Amazon has shared new details about the highly anticipated Blade Runner series, confirming that Blade Runner 2099 will serve as a sequel to the two existing films.

The series is produced by Ridley Scott and written by Silka Luisa, known for the series Shining Girls. The first episodes were directed by Jonathan van Tulleken (Shogun, Misfits).
The lead role of Cora is played by Hunter Schafer, the young actress who rose to fame with the series Euphoria. The seasoned actress Michelle Yeoh, who won an Oscar for Everything Everywhere All at Once, will portray Olwen, a replicant nearing the end of her life. The cast also includes Tom Burke, Dimitri Abold, and Daniel Rigby.
