The jury in the involuntary manslaughter case against actor Alec Baldwin is set to hear opening statements in court today. This comes after attorneys on both sides agreed to a jury on Monday.
This case is in connection to the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Baldwin claims a gun went off in his hands accidently as they were rehearsing a scene for the movie “Rust”. Baldwin faces up to 18 months in prison if convicted.
The film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is currently serving an 18-month sentence for involuntary manslaughter. She was convicted of allowing live rounds on the set of the film.
