by Alex Billington February 7, 2026Source: X.com
“Take the sword and protect them!” Here we go! Another fresh look at the new live-action He-Man out this summer. Amazon MGM Studios debuted a new 30-sec spot for Masters of the Universe, the 80s classic come to life on the big screen all over again. Masters of the Universe is a Mattel toy franchise turned into an 80s animated TV show and the 1987 movie starring Dolph Lundgren. In this brand new updated reboot of MOTU, director Travis Knight brings the legendary franchise back to the big screen where it belongs. After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor. To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms, and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe. The film stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man / Adam Glenn, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, Morena Baccarin, James Purefoy, Charlotte Riley, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Kristen Wiig as Roboto, Jared Leto as Skeletor, and Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms. Along with the first official trailer released a few weeks ago, this is looking damn good so far. Better than it should.
