We are now learning that about 140 U.S. troops have been injured as conflict in Iran continues, the Pentagon announced on Tuesday. Officials recently said the “vast majority” of the injuries were minor and of the estimated 140 who were injured, 108 have now returned to active duty. LiveNOW’s Mike Pache is speaking with Phil Stewart, a Reuters National Security reporter, after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned that Tuesday “will be yet again our most intense day of strikes inside Iran: The most fighters, the most bombers, the most strikes, intelligence more refined and better than ever.”
We are also watching the Strait of Hormuz as oil prices continue to fluctuate with military operations in Iran entering its second week. “Get ready for oil to be $200 a barrel, because the oil price depends on regional security which you have destabilized,” Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for Iran’s military command said in comments addressed to the United States, according to reporting from Reuters.
