President Donald Trump is joining sailors and military leaders in Norfolk, Virginia for a celebration of the Navy’s 250th anniversary. “I believe, ‘THE SHOW MUST GO ON!’” Trump posted Friday night, after weather initially postponed the event. President Trump wrote before leaving the White House for Naval Station Norfolk, “This will be a show of Naval aptitude and strength.”
The President has previously accused Democrats of enabling the current government shutdown and trying “to destroy this wonderful celebration of the U.S. Navy’s Birthday.” President Donald Trump is expected to join Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Navy Secretary John Phelan, and thousands of sailors and veterans for the event.
During a speech to military leaders last week, President Trump proposed using U.S. cities as training grounds for the armed forces. He also spoke of needing military might to combat what he called the “invasion from within.” Secretary Pete Hegseth declared an end to “woke” culture during the same event and also announced new directives for troops that include “gender-neutral” or “male-level” standards for physical fitness.
