The Louisiana Republican sent a letter to the House clerk that Oct. 7-13 will be a district work period. It comes on the third full day of the U.S. government shutdown.
Meantime in the Senate, a Democratic-backed funding proposal and a GOP-backed resolution both failed on Friday.
