The Enforcement Directorate (ED) — the country’s financial crime-fighting agency — has sent summons to actors Mimi Chakraborty and Urvashi Rautela in connection with an illegal betting app case, sources told Zee Business.
As per the summons, Chakraborty is required to appear on September 15 and Rautela the next day, according to the sources.
The news comes against the backdrop of heightened scrutiny of online gaming and betting platforms in the country.
Last month, the Narendra Modi 3.0 government enacted the Online Gaming law, following several years of fragmented regulation and legislative changes at central and state levels.

The ED, which investigates offences under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), has been actively probing several such platforms in recent months.
