Recently, a bizarre story has been circulating online: robots in China that can supposedly get pregnant. The headlines sound like something straight out of science fiction, and for good reason—they’re not true.

The story originally claimed that a Chinese company had developed robots capable of carrying human babies. According to the viral reports, this technology would allow robots to reproduce without the need for human women. For couples struggling with fertility, such a headline can be both shocking and unsettling.

However, investigative reporting by the Metaverse Planet team and other credible sources quickly revealed that the claims were entirely false. The supposed company, Kaiwa Technology, could not be verified, and the researcher linked to the project does not exist in any academic or professional records. Essentially, the entire story is fabricated.

While it might sound like science fiction, the reality is that robots cannot become pregnant, nor can they carry a fetus. Current technology in reproductive science focuses on assisted reproduction and, in some experimental contexts, artificial wombs to support premature babies. Even this research is in its infancy and surrounded by strict ethical considerations.

So, could we ever see something like “pregnant robots” in the future? In theory, perhaps in a sci-fi world or a hypothetical society without women—but in real life, it remains firmly in the realm of imagination.

This story serves as a reminder to critically evaluate sensational headlines. Viral tech news can be misleading, and it’s always worth checking credible sources before believing or sharing such claims.

Pregnant robots are not real. The headlines are fake, and the science doesn’t support it. Stay curious, stay informed, and remember: not everything online is true—even if it looks futuristic.
