Alina Habba is set to remain the acting U.S. attorney in New Jersey after a panel of judges rejected her for the post.
She posted on X:
“Donald J. Trump is the 47th President.
Pam Bondi is the Attorney General.
And I am now the Acting United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey.
I don’t cower to pressure. I don’t answer to politics.
This is a fight for justice. And I’m all in.”
On Tuesday, the Justice Department fired Desiree Leigh Grace, the newly selected U.S. attorney for New Jersey. The move came just after federal judges chose her over Habba, who President Donald Trump appointed as the state’s acting U.S. attorney back in March.
Meantime, the Senate Judiciary Commttee voted Thursday to advance the nomination of interim U.S. attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro.
