Whoopi Goldberg is set to join The Weekend View for the first time since the spinoff premiered.

The weekend edition of The View features the show’s Friday panel, which doesn’t include Goldberg. However, with Joy Behar’s absence from the show this week in preparation of her Off Broadway play, Goldberg is stepping in as the show’s moderator.

“Don’t adjust your eyes! That’s Whoopi joining us this weekend with our all-new show, The Weekend View! The laughs keep rolling into the weekend with us!” read the caption on the show’s Instagram account.

Goldberg will join regular Weekend View co-hosts Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

The Weekend View premiered in January 2025 and streams on ABC News Live on Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. ET, with replays streaming throughout the weekend. The 30-minute expansion featurs an all-new “Hot Topics” segment, with the co-hosts sharing their hot takes on the latest pop culture topics. Segments from the Behind the Table podcast will also be featured in the weekend expansion.

Karin Gilford, senior vice president of Digital Media, ABC News Group and Disney Entertainment Networks, said the weekend version of The View “combines the strength of both to create seamless, blended programming for our viewers.”
