Dean Norris, best known for playing Hank Schrader in Breaking Bad, recently had his X account hacked.
Scammers used his profile to promote a cryptocurrency called DEAN, which misled followers into thinking the actor endorsed it.

A video was also shared, where Norris seemed to say the coin was legitimate. In the video, Norris said, “Hey, it’s me, Dean, and on January 25th, I’m declaring it’s real”.
Some Reddit users guessed the video might have been a deepfake or a repurposed Cameo message. Norris is active on Cameo, a service where fans can purchase personalized videos from celebrities, which may explain how the hackers accessed material for misuse.
In a January 26 post on X, the actor clarified that his account had been compromised and called the memecoin a “complete, fake scam”. He also expressed frustration toward critics who blamed him for the incident.
In another post, Norris explained he rarely uses X and does not have a Telegram account. He only learned about the hack after friends alerted him. He said:
I didn’t know I was hacked until I started getting texts from friends saying it’s out there.
