The company aims to adopt blockchain within traditional financial systems to enable tokenized assets, real-time payments, and institutional digital investments.

Arc Brings Major Financial Institutions Onchain

Circle confirmed that Arc’s founding validators include BlackRock, DTCC, Galaxy, Global Payments, ICE, Mastercard, MoneyGram, SBI Group, Standard Chartered, Sumitomo Corporation, and Visa alongside Circle.

While most blockchain networks are secured by a crypto-currency with a dedicated core team, Arc’s security is to be maintained by the institutions active on the platform in the construction of financial services.

Circle noted that they created this model to help improve security, governance, compliance, and operational resilience for the benefit of their institutional customers.

Large institutions expand early integrations

Prior to the public launch, over 100 enterprise & ecosystem builders are already active on Arc. BlackRock will use native USDC to power its tokenized money market fund on the network, while BNY will be looking at digital custody integration.

DTCC announced plans to connect its tokenization service to Arc in the second half of 2027 and Standard Chartered is considering applications in stablecoins, foreign exchange and repo markets.

These partnerships are focused on promoting tokenized securities, cash tokens and institutional settlement in a single blockchain space, Circle said.

Circle Targets Institutional Blockchain Adoption

According to Circle, Arc is designed for global finance and real-time wealth transfer, and represents their goal of creating AI-based financial apps. It will also unveil developer tools for smart contract, real world asset, and programmable financial applications along with launching the network.

CEO Jeremy Allaire states that Arc is intended to establish itself as a reliable blockchain infrastructure and where open invention meets the compliance, governance and security requirements of worldwide monetary institutions.
