In recent weeks, speculation has increased about WWE landing a former world champion from a rival promotion.
Last month, TNA Wrestling parted ways with four of its former world champions: Mike Santana, Sami Callihan, Tessa Blanchard and Steve Maclin. On top of that, the company moved on from wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer.
A recent report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select stated that WWE had interest in Santana and that the company “would like him on the main roster by the end of the year if they land him.”
On Wednesday, Santana posted a cryptic message on X that reads, “7/15.”

Some fans think that Santana was pointing out the date of his free agency and when he would be available to sign elsewhere. Of course, the rival AEW promotion is also running its weekly Dynamite program in Boston, Massachusetts.
We’ll have to wait and see if anything notable happens with Santana next Wednesday. It’s worth noting that, because he wasn’t outright released from TNA, Santana isn’t subject to a non-compete clause and is free to sign anywhere.

Last year, Santana made numerous appearances for the rival promotion. This included a match at the Oct. 7 NXT vs. TNA Showdown, where he led Team TNA (Moose, Leon Slater and Frankie Kazarian) to a victory over Team NXT (Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, Myles Borne and Ricky Saints).
