Another day, and another rumor about a possible new James Bond actor. This time, a report from Varietysuggests that Louis Partridge is very much in consideration for the role, and that the actor already has a connection with the current Bond screenwriter and Peaky Blinders guru, Steven Knight. According to a report from April 10, “speculation has now reached Variety that he’s [Partridge] in contention for the job [of playing James Bond].” The report goes on to claim that Partridge tried to “impress” Steven Knight at the premiere of the historical drama series, The House of Guinness.
But Partridge’s credits extend well beyond that series. The actor is a rising star, with a ton of huge films and series under his belt. But could this 22-year-old really be the next James Bond?
Who is Louis Partridge?

Louis Partridge is a former child actor who was, at one point, probably most famous for his role in the first Enola Holmes film, in which he played Viscount Tewkesbury. He reprised his role for Enola Holmes 2, along with Millie Bobby Brown as Enola and Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes. Interestingly, Partridge also played a younger version of Cavill’s titular character Agent Aubrey Argylle in the metafictional spy comedy Argylle. Cavill, of course, has been long connected with James Bond, and in a sense, by playing young Argylle, Partridge has already had a crack at, briefly, playing a young Bond-esque figure.
Speaking of playing younger versions of established actors: Partridge also recently starred in the 2025 Noah Baumbach film Jay Kelly, playing a younger version of Billy Crudup’s character, Timothy, in a pivotal flashback. Partridge also starred in the miniseries Disclosure (which has a massive twist) as well as alongside MobLand’s Anson Booth in the miniseries Pistol, in which he played Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols. (Booth played Johnny Rotten in the series.) His next major role will be in Netflix’s new take on Pride and Prejudice, where he’ll play George Wickham.

According to Page Six, Partridge dated popular singer Olivia Rodrigo for two years, but split up in late 2025. When interviewed about their relationship in Variety in 2025, Partridge joked about his fame being far less than Rodrigo’s, noting he could “handle” the title of “Mr. Olivia Rodrigo.”
Obviously, if Partridge became James Bond, his fame would skyrocket, permanently.
The next James Bond actor is still unknown
Partridge’s age is surely a major factor with this specific rumor, and it’s worth noting that the next Bond actor is still totally unconfirmed and unknown. Would Partridge be too young? Perhaps now, but perhaps not in a few years. Currently, Paddy Gibson is playing a younger version of Bond for the new game 007 First Light, and there’s also the upcoming Young Bond audio series, which will feature, likely, an even younger actor.
If the next Bond movie goes very young, or even features a flashback to Bond being a very young man, Louis Partridge would be great. But if he does take on the role, he would make history, easily, as the youngest live-action, on-screen Bond of all time.
James Bond 26 does not yet have a title or release date.
