NASA said Wednesday that the Artemis II moon mission launch appears to be on track for the 6:24PM launch window, which remains open for two hours until 8:24PM. Four astronauts will travel around the moon.
Reid Wiseman is the flight commander, a retired Navy captain who lived aboard the International Space Station (ISS) in 2014 and later went to NASA’s Astronaut Corps.
Victor Glover is a Navy test pilot, who became the first Black astronaut to live and work on the International Space Station in 2020 and 2021.
Christina Koch holds the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman. During her 328 day mission at the International Space Station spanning 2019 and 2020, she took part in the first all-female spacewalk.
Jeremy Hansen, a Canadian astronaut is a former fighter pilot and is the “lone space rookie” in the mission.
