Joseph Duggar is having a hard time behind bars…
As we have been reporting, the 31-year-old former reality star was arrested last week after being accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl while on vacation in Florida in 2020. He was charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older.
Two days after his arrest, he was charged in Arkansas with an additional four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree and four counts of false imprisonment in the second degree. His wife, Kendra Duggar, was arrested on the same charges. While Kendra was released on bail, Joseph remained at the Washington County Detention Facility awaiting extradition to Florida — and he hasn’t been adjusting well to life behind bars. At least that is what his phone calls revealed.

According to a call log obtained by Page Six on Friday, while in jail, Joseph has only called two people. The 19 Kids and Counting alum reached out to Kendra on March 19, the day after his arrest, but she did not respond. He also called a management consultant that same day, but the call was also left unanswered.
The following night, Kendra finally picked up his call at 8: 11 p.m., just a few hours after she was released from the Washington County Detention Facility following her arrest for false imprisonment and child endangerment, and they spoke for eight minutes. About what? People reported Joseph told Kendra in hushed tones that he is being held in solitary confinement:
“I’ve been spending a lot of time reading, uh, reading the Bible, they got me a Bible in here. I’m in solitary.”
Joseph said he is spending “23 hours of the day” in “an 8-by-10 area” at the facility, adding:
“Pretty small area, but I’ve been able to read a lot actually, and resting some, but I’m not sleeping great through the night.”
The couple went on to discuss Joseph signing over the belongings he checked in upon being admitted into jail so Kendra could grab them. She also admitted she already had an attorney despite being booked and released from custody less than two hours before the call.
From there, they chatted every day. Joseph called Kendra again for 21 minutes on March 21 and 22. On March 23, he contacted her twice, with the first call lasting about 20 minutes and the second call lasting 9 minutes. Joseph called Kendra twice each day from March 24 to 26 for around 20 minutes.
Although Joseph is talking to Kendra frequently, she has not visited him in jail. In fact, none of his loved ones have! That is not too surprising. Several of his siblings have slammed his “vile” alleged actions online — except for one family member. And we bet you can guess who that is: convicted sex criminal Josh Duggar, who defended the allegations against his brother. Ick. Joseph’s loved ones also didn’t show up to support him during his first court appearance after his arrest. Since they aren’t visiting him in jail, it appears they’re making it clear he is fighting this battle all on his own!
Page Six reported the only person to visit the Counting On star at the Washington County Correctional Facility was his attorney. That’s it.
