AEW World Champion MJF has fans buzzing again after suddenly handing himself a new moniker.
In 2026, MJF sat atop the AEW talent summit, reigning as the promotion’s World Champion after winning the title at Worlds End last December. Despite his heel gimmick, Friedman has been a fighting champion, defending his title four times, two of which occurred outside the Jacksonville-based promotion. His next defense will take place at Revolution 2026 on March 15, when the Salt of the Earth will face longtime rival Hangman Page. Ahead of that bout, Friedman, who has a habit of stirring the pot online, once again drew attention with a new post on X.
In that post, the Wolf of Wrestling shared a photo of himself from last week’s Dynamite and called himself the real main character, effectively giving himself a new name.
“The Real Main Character,” MJF wrote

MJF may have subtly confirmed his opponent for AEW: All In 2026
In a recent appearance on the Self-Made Sitdown Show, MJF expressed interest in a rematch with Will Ospreay, with whom he shared a historic rivalry in 2024. What makes things interesting is that the Aerial Assassin, who’s been on a hiatus from Tony Khan’s promotion since late 2025, is reportedly set to return by All In 2026, subtly implying that Friedman could face Ospreay at the event in London.
“I keep hearing people talk about Will Ospreay. And if I’m being completely honest, would I like that rematch? I’ve won one, he’s won one. Do I deserve an opportunity to prove to the world that that one win he had was an absolutely disgusting, gross fluke? I think so. But then! But then! Is Will Ospreay even going to be up to the task? This man’s got a neck made of silly putty now. Who’s to say that’s somebody I’m even gonna be dealing with by then?” [H/T Wrestling Observer]
All eyes will be on MJF this Wednesday on Dynamite, as the AEW World Champion will give his answer to Hangman Page, who challenged Friedman to a Texas Deathmatch at Revolution 2026 for the title.
