An investigation is underway after a deputy-involved shooting in Lakeland, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. No deputies were injured and the sheriff’s office says, “The suspect involved has been transported by Polk Fire Rescue.” Sheriff Grady Judd of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office spoke to the media shortly after the incident. Sheriff Judd announced during the press conference that the suspect in this situation had died as a result of the shooting.
