The wait for the fifth and final season of Netflix’s juggernaut Stranger Things has been agonizingly long. However, thanks to McDonald’s, fans got a taste of Hawkins before Wednesday’s season premiere. While Stranger Things Happy Meal collectibles are headlining the show’s collaboration with McDonald’s, Peru and Brazil really turned things up a notch with their approach.
If you live in Brazil specifically, and tuned in for the Stranger Things Season 5 debut on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. ET (10 p.m. their time), here’s to hoping your McDonald’s was open late. If so, you could embrace the full upside-down with a burger that was added to the menu, which almost aligns too perfectly with the hit series.

Although various unique promos are rolling out in several countries, the offerings specifically in Brazil admittedly made me do a double-take. The headliners? Two items, a burger and a chicken sandwich, which are made on upside-down buns, as Marketing Communication News revealed.
Here’s a look at what both the Stranger Burger Sandwich and Stranger Chicken Sandwich include for those Stranger Things fans in Brazil:

Although flipping a burger bun upside down may seem simple enough, whoever came up with that decision for the collaboration in Brazil deserves a tip of the cap for uniqueness.
That’s not all, though, as the menu for the Stranger Things collab with McDonald’s in Brazil will also feature a custom McFloat and several dessert items. Here’s a look at the list:
Hawkins McFloat with Coca-Cola and vanilla-flavored dairy toppingWalkie Torta, Mequi’s classic pie with a red berry filling and cocoa crustScoops Sundae – topped with strawberry sauce, puffed rice and spiced caramel-flavored toppingCode Red McColosso – available with chocolate or caramel sauce, puffed rice, spiced caramel-flavored topping and Biju Black wafer pieces
That’s an impressive list of dessert options, and it’s surely enough to make you want to check what your local McDonald’s is rolling out for Stranger Things.
For good measure, several reports state that McDonald’s in Peru also rolled out the upside-down burger as a part of the collaboration, which Dexerto highlighted.
‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Reviews: No Shortage of Opinions on the First 4 Episodes
Not surprisingly, after the first four episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 were released on Netflix, the fan reviews and opinions poured in across social media. Many other verified reviews from critics and fans alike lit up popular sites like Rotten Tomatoes.
Although there are still two more release dates of new episodes, the early returns were strong for Stranger Things 5. On Rotten Tomatoes, the fifth season earned a certified fresh tag along with its 86 percent critics’ score. Fans enjoyed the first four episodes even more, apparently, giving the start of the new season a 92 percent rating.
Metacritic had just over half of the critics’ reviews of Season 5, but the score checked in slightly lower overall. While the critics’ ratings were mostly positive, the newest addition to the Stranger Things series has a 71 percent score and a 7.6 out of 10 fan rating.
Stranger Things Season 5 returns with episodes five through seven on Christmas Day, followed by the series finale on Dec. 31.
