Co-founder and president of Valve Corporation, Gabe Newell, had a busy stretch during Steam Machine week. After Valve initially unveiled the new Steam Machine, a compact gaming PC set to be released at some point in 2026, Newell concluded the big reveal by showcasing his own eye-opening purchase—a custom-designed superyacht, the Leviathan.
The 111-meter-long superyacht was built by Oceanco, a company he purchased in August, as PC Gamer revealed. The details of Newell’s new yacht are enough to leave your jaw on the floor, and Leviathan’s tremendous size makes it one of the 50 largest yachts in the entire world.

As Oceanco CEO Marcel Onkenhout told Boat International, Newell’s superyacht stands “apart from anything we’ve built before.” He also called it the “most comfortable yacht ever designed, built and delivered” by the company.
“What makes Leviathan so unique is the way she came to life,” added Oceanco CEO Marcel Onkenhout. “From the very start, we knew nothing about her would be done in a traditional way. We were welcomed into the team alongside Gabe and everyone who would ultimately be involved in operating her. It is this level of collaboration that sets Leviathan apart from anything we’ve built before.”
The collaboration and braintrust behind the iconic yacht included Newell working alongside the likes of his technical representatives, YTMC and brokerage firm Y.CO. CEO and co-founder of Y.CO, Charlie Birkett, offered insight into the superyacht’s uniqueness while speaking with Boat International.
“She is not just a high-performance vessel,” said Birkett. “She is a working ecosystem, designed to support everything from world-class hospitality to scientific research. That is what happens when you put people and purpose at the centre.”

The head-turning yacht includes extremely unique features inside and out, many of which you likely wouldn’t catch at first glance. This includes a diesel-electric power plant and a battery-powered energy storage system, which allows Newell’s superyacht to operate without emissions for extended periods.
Here is a look at a few of the noteworthy aspects of the Leviathan, which features an on-board hospital, submarines and a whole lot more, as PC Gamer and Luxury Launches detailed.
