A man has died after being shot by an off-duty Harris County deputy in Atascocita, Texas.
Authorities said the off-duty officer was putting his child in the backseat of his car when the shooting occurred.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says the shooting happened in the 5300 block of Treewood Drive, near West Lake Houston Parkway and Upper Lake Drive.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Precinct 4 Constable’s Office are responding to the scene.
The off-duty deputy was not injured.
